As many of you already know, I love learning of new and up-and-coming specialty food brands that are a perfect fit for my entire family. One of the most important things for me is supporting small, family-owned businesses from all over the world. These products I recently learned about are organic, non-GMO, Kosher, and or gluten-free. Everyone at home loves these brands and I hope you check these brands out as well.
I wanted to make a point to bake at home with my daughter this holiday season, especially since she took an amazing cooking class over the summer. As seen on Shark Tank, Scratch & Grain’s baking kits make it so easy for us all while including health and organic ingredients in their kits. What makes it so fun and also a great learning experience is that each ingredient is individually labelled, and the ingredients are color coded and numbered. Their baking kits also make for an excellent gift. 5% of their profits are donated to charity.
It is like having your very own farm! Ideally suited to consumers of virtually all ages looking for affordable snacks that seamlessly blend great taste with important nutrition, Karen’s Naturals products are manufactured with natural purity and freshness. All fruit and vegetables offered by Karen’s Naturals are grown on farms, ranches and orchards where they’re allowed to ripen naturally before being picked at the peak of flavor. The produce is then washed gently, and cut into bite-size pieces before being flash frozen. My daughter loves these as a school snack and asks for them by name (she does not usually care for most vegetables, by the way). All Karen’s Naturals products are naturally free of gluten, dairy, wheat and nuts.
Edward & Sons first introduced Miso-Cup soup to American consumers some 40 years ago and has been offering innovative foods and other delectable culinary products ever since. I received their Organic Green Banana Flour and Organic Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk. Both are great allergy-alternatives to baking. We will be making muffins with the banana flour in the coming days. They also make organic ice cream cones. I would have included a photograph of their packaging, but my daughter and her friends have already gobbled up all the cones over the past few weekends!
Munk Pack‘s Oatmeal Fruit Squeezes are such a great morning (or afternoon) snack. We all love the taste and have been keeping pouches in our weekend bag for long car trips. These squeeze pouches are a delicious combination of apple cinnamon flavored oatmeal mixed with quinoa. Each is vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
I first became acquainted with Viki’s Granola at the OCRFA Super Saturday event a few years back. I am very old-fashioned when it comes to granola and add it to cottage cheese and yogurt. Recently, I began looking at recipes with granola that add that healthy crunch to any meal or snack. Some of my favorites are Viki’s Banana Granola Pops and Viki’s Granola Truffles.
