We had never been to Bostwick’s and had heard so many wonderful reviews about this Montauk Highway hotspot. Thus, we made it a point to stop by for lunch early one Tuesday. When we arrived at 11:30am, we were the first ones there and they were just opening the doors. We had our little one with us so because she is not ready to sit in the high chair and we still have her in the stroller, we had to sit outside. It was a bit cloudy but not drizzling, thank goodness. It was a pleasant day temperature wise outside too, which was perfect. The indoor seating is very cozy with low lighting. About fifteen minutes after we arrived, additional lunch guests arrived quickly, with most people choosing to dine outside. The parking lot was filling up fast around 12:15pm. Could you believe this was a Tuesday? I couldn’t imagine the weekends!

Our waitress was great. Our menus were brought to us immediately in addition to a special menu. To drink, my husband ordered the house Pinot Grigio from Alverdi in Italy, and I ordered their iced sweet green tea and water with lemon. The tea was not to sweet and I wanted something a tad sweet to drink; the green tea was just right.

Off of the special menu, my husband and I both ordered the Lobster Salad BLT, prepared with their homemade lobster salad, on a toasted bun with lettuce, bacon, tomato with your choice of french fries, potato salad, or potato chips for $25. My husband had cole slaw with his (even though it was not one of the original choices). We also ordered their crab cake burger (yes, we were REALLY hungry) that is served with a side of french fries, and remoulade sauce ($14). The remoulade sauce was unbelievable! It was so tangy and light; one of the best I have tried, no kidding around! Everything was great; just for the lobster roll, I would recommend a softer roll. Top slice hot dog rolls are always tasty or a soft Italian roll would pair well with the lobster salad!

It was relaxing to sit outside and the Montauk highway traffic was not bothersome in any way. I have heard their fried clams are excellent; next time, I would try them and their baja fish taco: fried codfish, roasted corn salsa, and chipotle lime sauce. Bostwick’s has a “Guppy Menu” for children that features kid’s portioned flounder, fish and chips, and pasta that can be found here. It’s a cute joint and very easy to find; I do, however, recommend dining here on a weekday, especially if you are not keen on a long wait, and the crowds.
