The Mill House Inn in East Hampton is one of my favorite spots in the Hamptons for an overnight stay and the best breakfast you could ever imagine. New at Mill House Inn this summer includes a variety of refreshing iced beverages, homemade ice pops, juices, and more. Recently, I caught up with Executive Chef Carolyn Stec to learn more about the menu additions and what’s new a the Inn.
For breakfast, Amber Waves Buttermilk Pancakes are made with whole wheat and Chef has created a special veggie hash featuring a selection of vegetables from Balsam Farms; Balsam Farms Vegetable Hash: organic eggs, roasted red pepper, mushrooms, asparagus, balsam farms yukon potatoes, broccoli, spinach, and sweet onion. Juices are also very popular with over 115 glasses of juice enjoyed just last month!
Chef Stec has an impressive culinary background, cooking in over 100 countries while working on an exclusive cruise ship line and has traveled to almost every U.S. state. Chef came to work out in the Hamptons because she wanted to be closer to the food and in control of what she was cooking.
For an afternoon treat while staying at the Inn, enjoy seasonal paletas (homemade popsicles): Hibiscus Lime, Montauk Rumrunners Coconut Rum Tropical Fruit, MHI Iced Coffee (made with cold-pressed coffee from Irving Farm Coffee Roasters based in NYC), Mango Sriracha (made with their homemade sriracha), and Strawberry Basil. For ice cream, try Quail Hill’s Rubarb. To drink, enjoy a cool glass of Balsam Lavender Lemonade or Blackberry Limeade.
