Buzz + Bloom Honey

One of my favorite discoveries at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show is Buzz + Bloom Honey. After becoming acquainted with their diverse line of honeys, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the Vice President of Marketing, John Rzeszut. Rzeszut provided detailed insight into the company’s mission, branding and unique honey varieties from creamy spreadable honey to squeezable honey.

Buzz + Bloom, founded in September of 2016, is under the helm of Sweet Harvest Foods. Sweet Harvest Foods has been in the honey business for a very long time. Honey is very versatile. It is great in beverages, as a glaze/reduction for meats, dairy, bakery, almost everything. “What really inspires us is that not all honey looks and tastes the same,” explains Rzeszut. “The bee only flies a few miles from their ‘house’, and the honey that they create is indicative of the flower and environment. If you have two beehives on the opposite side of a city or town, that honey is going to taste dramatically different.” Buzz + Bloom grew out of that inspiration of that close bee and flower relationship. “There was a big gap in the market. All the honey on the shelves in the grocery store looks and tastes the same; that should not be.”

Drink It Tuesday: DRY Sparkling and an Interview with Foudner/CEO Sharelle Klaus

In addition to trying DRY Sparkling‘s line of beverages, I had the pleasure of interviewing DRY Sparkling’s Founder/CEO Sharelle Klaus. Klaus has always had a passion for the culinary world. After having four children, she didn’t want to let a lack of wine or cocktails stop her from creating a great pairing. She became determined to create the first line of sparkling drinks that could compete with a great glass of wine or a premium cocktail and could also pair with gourmet meals.

She founded DRY Sparkling in 2005, a less-sweet soda option that is now one of the fastest growing carbonated soft drink brands in the US with distribution at many national and regional chains as well as, restaurants, cafes, and bars across the US and Canada. Flavors include Watermelon, Juniper Berry, Rhubarb, Lavender, and Fuji Apple, to name a few.

Summer Fancy Food Show Launches Child Friendly Snacks

There has been a recent boom in demand for healthy, high-quality child-friendly snacks in the specialty food industry. This year’s food show was beaming with top-notch, organic, gluten-free, nut-free, and non-GMO snack choices for children and parents alike that are ideal to bring to school, the beach, or a road trip. My daughter helped me curate this list, and I know when it has her seal of approval, it is the best of the best. Below are our top four child-friendly snacks introduced to my family at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show.
