Chadwicks American Chop House & Bar

On a Thursday a couple of weeks back, we took a trip up the island to visit family in Nassau County, Long Island. During our visit, my family took us to a restaurant they love to frequent called Chadwicks for their excellent service and delicious lunches and dinners. Right when we walked in, they were very accommodating and allowed us to bring the stroller inside so our daughter could be next to us. Inside, there are two dining areas with square and round tables, in addition to a small amount of outdoor seating underneath umbrellas. The restaurant is located directly across from the Rockville Centre train station, perfect for commuters and visitors arriving in the afternoon or evening.

For lunch, they have an excellent Power Lunch menu that offers discounted sandwiches (sandwich/soup/salad combo, any two) in addition to daily specials such as Lobster Fest until August 31st, Wine Down Wednesdays (half priced bottles), and Prime Rib Saturday.

I decided to order off of the Power Lunch Menu, as did everyone at our table. I ordered, including three other individuals at the table, the Smoky Grilled Chicken Cuban made with press grilled Italian bread, herb grilled chicken, prosciutto, melted Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard barbeque sauce, and I chose to have a side salad: their pear, candied walnut Gorgonzola salad with craisins and their house balsamic dressing. Can you believe it also came with dessert? The choices for gelato or sorbeto were vanilla, chocolate, lemon or raspberry. I had the vanilla gelato and my husband had the lemon with what tasted like a ricotta whipped mousse that was heavenly. I would have ordered another dollop of that on top (I will ask for next time)!

The next time I visit, I would love to try their Shrimp Po Boy ($12) with crispy shrimp, creole BBQ sauce, lettuce, red onion, and slider buns or the Spicy Chicken Meatball Sliders ($9) made with sweet and spicy hoisin-sesame glazed with carrot-scallion slaw. All sandwiches include choice of chef’s: Coleslaw, Yukon Gold Potato Salad or Pommes Frites. Sweet Potato Fries are $2 Extra. You will notice in the header photo they have the specials for the day, including the soup of the day which was chicken corn chowder. I really enjoyed my experience and I understand why my family frequents here and has their “usual” meal choices while dining here. We are looking forward to our next visit and lunch here.

Chadwicks is open Monday thru Friday for lunch and dinner beginning at 11:30am. They are open Saturdays and Sundays for dinner beginning at 5pm. To make a reservation, please click here. They also do catering. For more information, please visit http://www.chadwicksli.com
