Duryea’s Lobster Deck in Montauk

Duryea’s Lobster Deck in Montauk

Duryea’s Lobster Deck, set on Fort Pond Bay in Montauk and just a minute away from the train station, is a laid-back, family-friendly restaurant and market offering indoor and outdoor seating for lunch and dinner. What I love about Duryea’s is you could sit here for hours if you would like, taking in the breathtaking view and salty sea air. Service was above and beyond during this particular visit, water was provided consistently throughout our meal and we were checked on accordingly.

New this year is their exclusive private dining area and the oyster bar.  The new private dining area is located just above the main lobster deck and accommodates 30 people for a sit-down event or more for a cocktail event. Sweeping views of Fort Pond Bay paired with incredible sunsets makes this a perfect spot for a summer dinner party.  The new oyster bar at Duryea’s offers oysters, champagne and wine.  The oyster bar, located just adjacent to the fish market at Duryea’s, offers Montauk Pearl, Orient Point, Blue Point and Kumamoto oysters by the dozen. You may pair your oysters with a selection of rosés, whites and reds as well as a few select champagnes.

All dishes are served family style, with some exceptions such as their Lobster Roll and Fish Po’ Boy. A server presents your menu and you order and pay at the cashier window just inside. Service is included.

Our dining choices:

  • Fisherman’s Platter ($42)
  • Crudités Platter ($28)
  • Duryea’s Lobster Roll ($34)
  • Grilled Cheese ($9)
  • Mochi Ice Cream ($24)

As a starter, the Crudités Platter could easily feed three to four people. The Fisherman’s Platter is meant for one person but could be split between two people, and the Mochi Ice Cream could be split between four people. I always highly recommend the Crudités Platter, a fresh and colorful plate of local veggies with spicy hummus and mustard for dipping. Their delicious lobster roll is served with sweet potato chips and cole slaw.

Additional, notable menu items include the Lobster Cobb Salad ($48) that is loaded with lobster meat, Lobster Bisque, Mussels Marinière, and for dessert, the Warm Bread Pudding.
