Hook ’em & Cook ’em at Navy Beach 2017

Hook ’em & Cook ’em at Navy Beach 2017

Hook ’em & Cook ’em with Barcelona Wine Bar at Navy Beach took place on Wednesday, September 6 from 7-10pm. This event was an Exclusive Dock-to-Dish Inspired Culinary Competition and Private Dinner held at one of Montauk’s Favored Beach-side Dining Destinations.

Guests were invited to join 14 Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant chefs from across the country, along with James Beard Award winner Christopher Lee, at Montauk’s famed Navy Beach, as they return from a day on the open water catching fluke, striped bass, and bluefish. No fluke was caught that morning, thus striped bass was substituted. Using their respective ‘catch of the day’, the chefs prepared an exclusive family-style meal that included produce, seafood, beer, and wine from local partners Amber Waves Farm, Dock to Dish, Montauk Brewing Company, and Paumanok Vineyards.

As dinner guests, we had the opportunity to vote using a small sand dollar for our favorite station. An assortment of canapés was also provided by Navy Beach including their popular Yunnan Ribs and Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Drinks were served at the bar beginning promptly at 7pm, with dinner commencing at just before 8:30pm. Our favorites included Whole Roasted Striped Bass with Green Grapes and Long Island Corn Pudding, Pickled Bluefish with Summer Vegetable Caponata, Wood Roasted Bluefish with Andy’s Secret Sauce with Cucumber Panzanella, and Wild Striped Bass Esqueixada with Creamed Long Island Corn with Pimentoón Popcorn.

Ticket prices were $100 per person.
