The Michael Bolton
Charities fundraising event, “An Evening Under the Stars”, took place at a private estate in Sagaponack
on Saturday, August 19th beginning at 6pm. Now in its 24th year, The Michael Bolton Charities
has been a consistent advocate and supporter of initiatives and organizations committed to responding to the needs of children and women at risk from domestic violence, physical and mental abuse, poverty, homelessness and human trafficking. Over 200 guests to came together for a charitable evening of dinner, drinks, and a private performance by Michael Bolton
himself, all in honor of women and children as victims of domestic violence everywhere. The event was presented by Lawrence Scott Events
. Founder and Creative Director, Lawrence Scott Gottesman, created a one-of-a-kind celebration
for such a meaningful cause.
The hosts for the evening were Kimberly Guifoyle and Chris Wragge. Honorees included Susan Shin, Founder of Shin Advisors
, who was recognized for her philanthropic work towards ending living with domestic violence. Every detail was executed brilliantly and real captured your attention. The tent, chandeliers, and table settings were exquisite. I was blown away by the culinary presentation and passed hor d’oeuvres, which included Filet Mignon ‘cigars’, Chicken Satay, and spring rolls. Just behind the tent was an enormous fresh fruit, bread, and cheese display that really captured your attention. It was almost too perfect to touch and eat from. I have never
seen anything like it.
Following cocktail hour, there was sit dinner reception, award ceremony, live auction, and dancing. Michael Bolton did a special performance for guests. Items up for auction included boxing-inspired workout classes with Rumble Boxing in NYC, a yellow gold and diamond necklace from Stephanie Gottlieb Jewelry, a one week timeshare in St. Maarten, one night stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel NY with a Palm Restaurant gift certificate, and a Hamptons Hills Country Club golf 4some with cart and lunch in addition to 4 tickets to a NY Mets home game.
The Charities gave surprise recognition to Lawrence Scott for his generosity and support in creating an amazing evening. Actor Richard Kind also joined the fun by acting as impromptu auctioneer for the “Michael Bolton Package” auction prize, which included 2 VIP tickets to a Michael Bolton concert, joining Bolton for sound check, and a meet and greet with photo and a personally signed guitar by Bolton.
