Super Saturday is one of my favorite summer events, and the most highly anticipated event for guests of the Hamptons and locals alike. As soon as my husband, daughter, and I arrived, there was a very long line of eager patrons waiting on the 12pm and 1pm line. The time was 11:45am. As the Rolls Royce of garage sales, it is the place to shop to you drop, with every penny going towards Ovarian Cancer Research. Once again hosted by talk show host, Kelly Ripa, and designer, Donna Karan, in just one afternoon, over $3.4 million was raised!
Designers at the event included Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Zoe, Calypso St. Barth, Donna Karan, Zimmerman, L’Agence, Pennymeade, Koral Activewear, Diane von Furstenberg, Theory, and Alexandra Clancy. Each piece of fashion, home, and beauty apparel that is for sale is donated by the designer and or company. In support of Super Saturday, I purchased a beautiful 100% cotton knitted dress for Sarah from Pennymeade, and a sports bra and pant turquoise blue fitness apparel set for Koral Activewear. If you want to shop anywhere without feeling any guilt about it, this is the place to do it. I recommend first coming to the fashion tent before setting off to other corners of the Nova’s Ark Project grounds.
The event began at 12pm and went until 6pm, with the first hour granted for VIPs. There is so much to see and do at the event, you really need to spend the entire day here. Besides the plethora of drastically discounted designer duds, I had the opportunity to indulge in a braid bar by PRIV, an intuitive reading by Kelly Lefcourt of Zenful Holistic with Betsy Wahmann, the DKNY Psychedelic Photo Booth, receiving a floral crown by B Floral, and tray passed service from FIJI Water.
My daughter loved Camp Divalyssious, a tent just for children that featured story time, arts and crafts, refreshments, and their very own red carpet by Red Carpet Kids. Refreshments at the event were provided by Honeydrop Beverages, Titan Tea, and Mamma Chia. Lunch and decadent desserts were generously provided by Sant Ambroeus, and gluten-free treats were provided by Carly’s Better Bites. As you can see from the pictures, I couldn’t get enough of these moist, cake bites that ranged in flavors from chocolate chip to red velvet. Snacks available included Vicki’s Granola, ice pops by Ruby Rocket’s, Popchips, and Pizza Luca.
At least half of the women who attended the event were wearing floral crowns. That is so amazing that so many people were choosing to be festive while supporting a great cause. For next year, I may choose to wear something more casual so I could go on the rides, especially the big slide! I also intend to come as a VIP guest to give even more support, and I encourage you to do the same! Plus, the VIP goodie bags sound smashing!
The next Super Saturday event will be held in Las Vegas on September 19th and 20th at the Fashion Show and the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo.
