The 19th annual Hamptons Super Saturday to benefit OCRFA: Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance took place this past Saturday, July 30th at Nova’s ARK Project in Watermill. This was my third Super Saturday event, and since 2014, have considered it to be my favorite event of the summer. Everything is all in one place: great food, games, children’s activities, an open bar, the best gift bag for VIPs, beauty bars, contests, rides, and of course lots and lots of shopping for designer duds at deeply discounted prices. My favorite aspect of the event is Camp Divalysscious curated by Lyss Stern, where my family and I spent our most time.
At Camp Divalysscious, my daughter created a personalized tee shirt, took a vintage style photo with her dad, listened to stories, watched a children’s-themed performance, and participated in several craft projects. Nearby was miniature golf, bumper cars, arcade games, a mini lacrosse tutorial, and the carousel, Sarah’s favorite. We rode the carousel at least eight times!
In between shopping, I was gifted with a flower crown by B Floral, and then had my hair braided while I sipped wine in Brancott Estate’s Flight Song wine bar and hair salon. Next, we had refreshments courtesy of Honeydrop, Bai, Fiji Water, Mamma Chia, popchips (we played a game and won an insulated water bottle and yoga mat), Titan Tea, SkinnyPop Popcorn, and Revive Kombucha who had a variety of craft kombucha brews including CAMPFIRE, a rustic green tea mixed with toasted rice.
We bought our daughter a pair of new silver shoes from Cienta. Then, we had lunch, catered by Sant Ambroeus which included a generous spread of Milanese-style salads, pasta, salmon, steak, asparagus, as well as ‘backyard’ hot dogs and hamburgers. Dessert was impressive and is always my favorite. My tops choices were the macarons (don’t ask how many I had), and the cake pops. Sant Ambroeus was also serving gelato with flavors including chocolate, mint chocolate chip, vanilla, and strawberry.
We ended the day with freshly grilled corn with an assortment of spices, iced coffee from Hampton Coffee Company as well as some last minute drinks from the bar in addition to a tranquil massage courtesy of Urban Zen.
VIP hour began at 12pm with general admission at 1pm with the event lasting until 6pm. Last year, Super Saturday 18 in the Hamptons raised over $3.4 million, making it the largest fundraiser on the East End!
