Drink It Tuesday: Wölffer Estate Vineyard Cider

I was introduced to Wölffer Estate’s Dry Rosé and Dry White Cider this past winter. My husband was so fond of how refreshing and citrusy the ciders tasted, it took me until now to share these exceptional ciders with you! Perfect for summer, Wölffer’s ciders will enhance any backyard BBQ, poolside lunch, or sunset soiree. I digress, why did it take this long? We received a case of cider compliments of Wölffer, but before I could tell my husband and his friends not to touch it, the cider was gone with the wind! Everyone loved it so much, they went out a week later and bought more, then poof! It was gone again. We literally purchased the cider eight times before I could finally snatch up two packages and set them aside for photos (not an easy task).

Their cider was a hit with everyone. First the color and presentation of each package drew us in: it is so cheerful and the labeling reminds me of the Spanish Caribbean: romantic and full of life.

First, the Wölffer No. 139 Dry White Cider is classically made: marrying traditional techniques with Wolffer signature elegance with subtle citrus flavors. Second is the Wölffer No. 139 Dry Rosé Cider. This is rosier and slightly sweeter than their white cider due to a small addition of red grape skin extract. Their cider is perfect to enjoy during a visit to their wine stand. Pair with one of their cheese/charcuterie plates and a baguette. Hydrate in between with complimentary alkalized water on their patio overlooking the vineyard. Their are tons of photo opportunities at the wine stand! Bring your camera and the crew and spend the morning or afternoon at one of the most beautiful spots in the Hamptons.

Their ciders are sold a their Wine Stand in Sagaponack, and also available to purchase online. Retail price is $16 for a package of four 355ml bottles. Purchase three or more cases and receive 20% off. Wölffer’s Summer in a Bottle and their non-alcoholic Verjus are my family’s two favorites in addition to their cider! The cider is also available to purchase up and down the east coast, and in every Whole Foods Market in the Northeast.

The Tasting Room is currently open Sunday-Thrusday 11am-8pm, and Friday and Saturday 11am-10pm. Hours for the Wine Stand are 11am-sundown daily. Listen to live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-8pm with the whole family! Yoga in the Vines classes are open to visitors all season long. Classes will be held Wednesday-Sunday; AM & PM classes are available.

I haven’t tried a cider before. This looks like a refreshing one to sample for summertime. I bet it would be great paired with some of my favorite meats and cheeses!
