Are you thinking about your preparations for The Big Game in early February? My family and I always look forward to one of our favorite days in sports. Each year, close family and friends come together to celebrate, bringing some of their own homemade dishes and party accessories. We always make it an all-day affair and do our shopping a few days ahead of time.
This year, we are hosting The Big Game Celebration. As my readers, I invite you in to our home to see how we organize and prepare in advance for The Big Game from bathroom readiness and essentials to creating an organized, hassle free Game Day food spread.
Prepare The Other Bowl for Game Day with Poo~Pourri
Elevates your bathroom experience for guests in your home while hosting The Big Game. The Before-You-Go® Toilet Spray will be your Game Day Hero for making everyone comfortable! We buy it because it’s funny, and use it because it works. I was introduced to Poo~Pourri two years ago at an event, and have been using it ever since. I have one spray bottle in each of our bathrooms and it always instantly becomes a hit with our guests. Now, how does it work? When spritzed into the toilet bowl before-you-go, Poo~Pourri’s pure blend of natural essential oils creates a film on the surface of the water. The protective barrier traps odor under the surface, before it ever begins! All you’ll smell is a refreshing bouquet of essential oils. Flush yeah!
It is no wonder that 40 million bottles have been sold! It is made with no synthetic fragrances, phthalates, parabens, or alcohol. Just ALL stink-fightin’ good stuff. I purchased my toilet sprays online. Receive free shipping on orders over $19.95 at PooPourri.com.
Set Up Your Big Game Day Fare Table
First and foremost, any foods that can be made a day or two ahead and be refrigerated or frozen should be completed right away and set aside. All dishes should be washed and ready to go the morning of. To avoid people waiting around to grab a particular food item, set up the table similar to a football field: light bites and ‘centerpiece’ snacks in the middle, with the hotter dishes divided on the side with plates, napkins, cups, and utensils on each side as well to limit wait time. Put out the food over time, keeping some portions warm in an oven or pot on the stove. To eliminate glassware being swapped by against, magnetic charms will do the trick, or write your initials on the bottom of your paper cup.
Have Poo~Pourri easily accessible. My favorite scents are Royal Flush®, Original Citrus, and Smoky Woods. You can place them in a small drawer close to the toilet, on the shelf next to the toilet tissue, or in a basket within reach.
I also recommend guest towels or disposable fingertip towels, especially for those sticky, wing sauce-coated fingertips! If you don’t have any, darker towels will work well, just make sure to put them right in the wash afterward and have at least three to four handy in your bathroom for guest use.
Bathroom Set Up
A neat and tidy bathroom is a must for having guests. Have your linens freshly laundered and make sure to have extra paper towel and toilet tissue handy. Clear away and properly store any clutter so everything is accessible. Keep those soap dispensers full, and have fresh soap at the sink.
Include Everyone, Even the Young Ones
Get children of all ages excited about The Big Game! Include interactive games, have the older ones be in charge of keeping score, and have drawing paper and craft activities for them. In our home, we love our miniature soft footballs and Game Day washable tattoos that are so much fun! You can even create a mini take home bag for the kids so they could remember the fun day they had with their friends and family members.
