Drink It Tuesday: Caliwater Cactus Water

This is not your ordinary water. This statement comes from so far this year trying almost every type of water out there from alkaline water to maple water. I love it all but there is a special spot received at our kitchen table for Caliwater Cactus Water. First introduced to me at this past summer’s Fancy Food Show in Manhattan, I remember enjoying my first container on the train back to my parent’s residence in Connecticut. After walking around through the exhibits for hours, exhausted from all for the exhilaration, the Cactus Water really hit the spot. Intensely revitalizing, fruity from the essence of the “prickly pear,” and infused with powerful antioxidants to give you that healthy boost.

It has a river of delicate sweetness flowing through each sip. This is not your traditional container of water that you may be tempted to drink quickly. I recommend sipping it languorously and pairing with a light meal on the side, such as a warm bowl of white bean soup or a hearty portion of your favorite kale and spinach salad topped with finely chopped peanuts. Something earthy and satisfying.

Since Caliwater contains prickly pear cactus, which is the only superfruit that contains all 24 of the rare and potent antioxidants known as betalains, it offers unique beauty benefits for the skin! Thus, Caliwater could be apart of your beauty regiment. Additionally, Caliwater delivers five naturally occurring electrolytes, as well as prickly pear cactus extract, which has been shown through clinical trials to relieve the symptoms of a hangover (Tulane Health Sciences Center, Dr. Jeff Wiese, 2004).

Each 11.2 Fl Oz container only has 35 calories and is low in sugar with just 9 grams of sugar per container. The company takes great pride in harvesting their prickly pear cactus fruit from local desert regions in California & Mexico.
