This past Saturday, March 11, I ventured over to the North Fork with my husband to attend a wine and chocolate pairing at Pindar Vineyards in Peconic. The wine pairing was in partnership with North Fork Chocolate Company located in Aquebogue, one of my favorite spots to stop at while I am in the area for great gifts from talented local businesses. Their chocolates are also out of this world! Pindar Vineyards and North Fork Chocolate Company are open year round.
Pindar Vineyards was quite busy that Saturday. We saw a few bridal parties celebrating, some birthday bashes, family and friend gatherings, and more. We were delighted to listen to live music and enjoy a cheese plate (sold in their refrigerator) during our tasting. Pindar is always a lively spot and the staff is consistently accommodating. If you happen to purchase a cheese plate or a selection of cheeses, complimentary crackers are provided at the wine bars. We also could not get enough of their Irish Soda Bread, seriously one of the best soda breads I have tried: so moist and fresh!
This year was filled with many great sips throughout both forks. I visited several new vineyards this year and had the opportunity to try many new, luscious beverages. Many of these bottled beauties are now enjoyed by me and my family on a regular basis. From a refreshing, floral lemonade to a sparkling ‘royal’ champagne, below I feature my top ten favorite things I drank in 2016. Continue reading →
I am honored to host a giveaway for my FAVORITE North Fork event: the 10th Annual North Fork Foodie Tour. This will be my second time at the event, and I am so excited to once again explore the generous bounty of the North Fork, stretching from Riverhead to East Marion. This self-guided, family friendly tour includes educational and edible activities, exclusive tours, goat milking, tastings, and more! About twenty vendors are scheduled to attend including Browder’s Birds and North Fork Roasting Company. Continue reading →
This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of doing a private wine tour and tasting at Pindar Vineyards, the largest and one of the oldest vineyards on Long Island. I enjoyed my tasting at their private VIP Bar opposite and away from the main tasting bar. This was my first visit to the sprawling winery on the North Fork. My experience was complete with a tour of the property, including getting to see the impressive production facility, and expansive barrel room. Notice the wind turbine in the photo gallery below that service as a power source for the vineyard. The customer service at Pindar is five stars across the board. Each staff member was very knowledgeable and hands on.
The VIP bar is especially ideal for intimate milestone celebrations, bachelorette parties, or anniversaries. Cheeses and snacks are available to purchase with your tasting. The vineyard throughout the year will host a number of events and gatherings, including chocolate and wine pairings, fundraisers, car shows, and more.
