Dan’s Taste of Two Forks took place this past Saturday, July 23rd at Fairview Farm at Mecox in Bridgehampton with a record 1,600+ guests. The VIP Hour began at 6:30pm, with general admission from 7:30pm until 10pm. This year’s event was twice the size of last year’s North and South Fork food celebration! The 6th annual event was hosted by Hosted by Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Judge on Food Network’s Chopped, Chef/Owner of Butter restaurant, Cookbook Author of “Old-School Comfort Food” and host of live comedy show Busting My Chops; and Katie Lee, host of The Cooking Channel’s new series “Beach Bites” and co-host of Food Network’s “The Kitchen.”
About thirty-six restaurants from the East End participated in the event including The Restaurant at Baron’s Cove, Navy Beach, Bay Kitchen Bar, Manna Restaurant, North Sea Tavern & Raw Bar, and Arbor. New restaurants at the event included Service Station in East Hampton, Momi Ramen in East Hampton, The Greenwich in Watermill, Oreya Hamptons and Union Cantina both in Southampton.
The lyra acrobatics began during VIP Hour. The crowd was going wild for the Cirque Central Entertainment aerialists who were pouring champagne and performing aerial feats all night! I loved the drum performance presented by & Tokyo that started midway through VIP hour.
My favorite dishes were Meredith’s Famous Pies by Fairview Farm, Tuna Tartare by Arbor, Shrimp “Succotash”: Poached White Tiger Shrimp, Cockles, Long Island Corn, Sungold Tomato Vinaigrette, Opal Basil by Moby’s and Lamborghinis: Moroccan Spiced Lamb Sliders with Cheddar and Roasted Garlic Aioli by 668 The Gig Shack. Favorite beverages were Natalie’s Organic juice varieties including orange beet and tangerine juice, Backyard Tea by Sailor Jerry’s, and coffee by Hampton Coffee Company.
Taste of Two Fork Wineries included Bedell Cellars, Bridge Lane Wine, Macari Vineyards & Winery, Mattebella Vineyards, One Woman Wines & Vineyards, Palmer Vineyards, Pellegrini Vineyards, and Raphael.
