On Sunday, August 10th, the East Hampton Library hosted their FREE, annual Children’s Fair. The fair was held from 2:30-5:30pm and is an incredible event that welcomes children and adults of all ages! My husband, my daughter, and I attended for about an hour or so and we had a terrific time. Right when we entered, we saw the ARF adoption mobile where many eager children were gathered outside awaiting their turns to see the cats and dogs up for adoption. My husband and I have volunteered at ARF numerous times and we always love visiting.
If you have children or grandchildren, you must attend this event. The library works so hard, along with their generous donors and volunteers, to organize this event each year and to let it be free for all. Just after the ARF mobile, members of the East Hampton Lions Club were busy grilling up hot dogs (that were very delicious) as well as preparing freshly popped popcorn. There was a silent auction for local businesses and products including photography sessions and fitness classes, tasty desserts, bottled water, children’s book authors, inflatable play areas, pony rides, arts and crafts table and more! Even though Sarah was a little young yet, I bet she will really enjoy it in a few years time.
It is so wonderful to live in an area that puts on these wonderful events for children. Above are various photos from the event. This was their 8th annual event. I am looking forward to taking our daughter to next year’s fair!
