Think, an “Airbnb” of personal chefs where a chef of your choosing based upon your cuisine preference comes to your home to cook for your family and friends. From an intimate dinner in for two to a family style get together for 20, Eat in Chef has your answer to almost any artfully plated meal you desire in your home.
Eat In Chef is a secure community that connects you with local, affordable chefs. With Eat in Chef, you can explore new menus, get to know different chefs, and request them to cook in your kitchen. Chefs then use the information you put in via a request form to better understand what kinds of foods, dietary restrictions, and pricing matter most to you. Each chef shops for groceries, cooks, and cleans up. Throughout your experience, you do not have to lift a finger! Chef Elena Apostolides came to my home last Thursday to cook for my husband and myself. Regarding our experience, words of praise are only the beginning.

Our first course was refreshing and colorful. There was a light drizzle of oil and vinaigrette, and what I loved is that you still had the crunch of the fresh vegetables without them being overly spiced. The ricotta cheese was luscious and I loved the sprig of fresh mint. The textures were harmonious: a little creamy and a little crunchy. The duck breast was cooked through perfectly: tender and juicy without being overdone. I don’t think I have had duck quite as good as that in years. The risotto was exceptional. We had some leftover that lasted about two days and it still tasted just as fresh as the day it was made.
My favorite was dessert. There is nothing quite like freshly baked strawberry cobbler. The strawberries were top-quality, local, and sweet. The cake was incredibly moist and the strawberries were zesty and sweet. The golden ticket was the dollop of crème fraîche on top. I couldn’t get enough of this dessert. I craved it again that evening!
Chef Apostolides was professional, organized, and skillful in every respect. She helped me and my husband experience a restful afternoon together with our daughter. I had been eating out at restaurants for several days in a row and there is nothing as special as sitting down at home to a beautiful meal. There are those days that I just want to take it easy and slowly; Eat in Chef helped us to accomplish just that.
Chefs shop for and choose the ingredients for each dish. For our meal, Chef sourced her ingredients from Round Swamp Farm and a couple of local farm-stands. Eat in Chef has a partnership with Fresh Direct.

The price starts $50 per person. From there, the prices increases and changes depending on the number of courses. The cost depends on the number of courses and by doing so, it gives the chefs the complete responsibility of the menu creation and encourages the open communication between the chefs and the customers.
