This coming Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning to one of my favorite times of the year. The onset of the warmer weather, sunny skies, endless amounts of outdoor play, hours spent poolside, and of course outdoor cookouts and BBQs. My family and I love to host BBQ dinners weekly throughout the summer either at our home or at the ocean just minutes away from our home.
We love to grill everything from spiced hamburgers, rack of ribs, steaks, shrimp, trout, clams, as well as fruits and vegetables. Just last year, we began grilling vegetables and fruits on a regular basis such as corn, squash, and peaches.
Don’t you love the taste of sweet, juicy peaches in the summer? And to make it even better, pair peaches with creamy Burrata cheese. As you comb through my previous posts, you will instantly realize that Burrata is my most favorite type of cheese. Any opportunity I have, I incorporate it into a recipe at home. There are so many ways to include the combination of peaches and Burrata into recipes that coincide with summer grilling season. Season after season, I purchase all of my grilling needs at The Fresh Market.
I shop at the Smithtown, NY location, which is so convenient for those who are headed out to the Hamptons for Memorial Day weekend. With The Fresh Market, you do not have to worry about making multiple stops to different locations for your holiday weekend celebrations. Grilling season is filled with endless possibilities and plenty of grilling opportunities.
For this particular visit to The Fresh Market, I left with two containers of fresh Burrata and a bag of peaches. I can always rely on The Fresh Market for the freshest produce and everything we need for grilling including their meat and vegetable kebabs, side salads, and dressings. I love how The Fresh Market has created such an easy layout for fast grocery shopping. I am usually in and out with a full cart within a half hour to forty minutes tops.
I also purchased some containers of fresh basil, mint, and their own signature Balsamic Glaze that is just thing my salad needed. I also purchased some grocery items that I will use throughout the upcoming weekend including their Ultimate Mango Chipotle Tuna Skewer, Creole Chicken, their Grillign Squash Medley, and their Mojito Quinoa Salad that I ended up having as part of my lunch the other day.
Their floral section includes some of the most beautiful arrangements. I particularly pleased with how long the arrangements last. You could easily purchase your flowers five to seven days in advance, like we did, and they will still be in full bloom for Memorial Day.
I am so eager to debut my Grilled Peach, Burrata and Basil Salad to my guests this Memorial Day weekend. You can incorporate the salad into a full grilled dinner with mini gourmet hamburgers or kebobs, watermelon slices or as a stand alone dish. I love to pair the salad with my own Ginger Mint Iced Tea.
I do something a little different with the peaches for grilling, which saves so much time. I use one of the handy metal skewers for the kebobs for grilling the peaches, and cut them into thick slices rather than halves. Click here for more grilling inspiration and ideas!
