This past Friday, I was one of the fitness representatives for Gurney’s Inn Resort and Spa at their annual “Spatini” event to raise money for The Retreat, a local organization that helps those who have suffered from domestic violence. The retreat was hosted by Gurney’s Inn Spa Director, Candice Monte. A variety of events took place including complimentary massages, fitness demos, manicures, a chocolate tasting, juice tasting, raffles, hor d’oeuvres, alcoholic beverages including a signature “Spatini,” and the chance to purchase some wonderful spa products. The hor d’oeuvres were so tasty; my favorite was the caviar on toast points.
Everyone was really enjoying themselves and were especially complimenting how soothing the massages were, the great selection of beauty products, the delectable hot d’oeuvres, and how beautiful the weather was. Beauty products for sale included Hamptons Sun and Moroccan Oil.
The event was also a wonderful opportunity to learn about the spas offerings including their energetic and fun fitness classes for all levels. Christine of Dive into Yoga (she is also a scuba diver and a scuba diving instructor!) did a fabulous demo of her yoga class and included some advanced yoga poses in her demonstration. Gurney’s Inn sells Christine’s yoga DVD, that features an intro with Cosmopolitan Editor, Helen Gurley Brown.
Patricia and James did a wonderful Spinning demo for everyone as well! Fitness classes that are offered include Iron Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Spinning, Water Works, Aqua Zumba, Pilates Mat, and more!
This event occurs around the second week of July each year.
