The year 2020 came to a strong close and with so much that had been accomplishment in that year, I am so psyched for 2021 and what it will bring to me personally and to East End Taste. EET started with an idea of creating the North and South Fork’s very first all-inclusive food and drink blog. I was served many delightful and memorable meals at restaurants I both frequent and visited for the first time in 2020. I am looking forward to any new eateries and businesses popping up this season and to the changes and revamping of some of the eateries out east and how they will decide to spice up their menu this year.
For this year, East End Taste will turn its focus to food events and menu specials and will continue to grow its vineyard coverage with posts that highlight tours of the North Fork’s most coveted wineries and vineyards. The blog will also dab into the history of food on the East End and will include a few interviews from long-time local residents that have seen the culinary transformations of the east end.
EET will also be bringing you food book and recipe book reviews, interviews with celebrity chefs, and will be expanding its travel section. Towards the summer, I will also be featuring a “Best Dish I Ate” of the month post. Lastly, the blog will be heading up the island for coverage of restaurants in Nassau County and all the way to Manhattan on occasion.
As for my personal goals for the new year, they include: visiting more farm stands, more trips to the beach and participating in more clambakes, visiting a new country and state (thinking about Maine and perhaps Aruba/Montserrat), reading even more books, and finishing some writing projects that are still saved on my circa 1998 computer that I never have connected to the Internet.
