Indian Wells Tavern

Indian Wells Tavern, set in historic Amagansett and steps away from dozens of local retail shops, Amagansett Square, and the library, is a great dining destination for family nights out, watching the game, a meet-up spot for friends at the bar, reunion gatherings, and many more reasons to celebrate. Families and adults alike can have fun at Indian Wells Tavern any day of the week this summer season.

We visited last Wednesday evening for Fajita night close to 6:30pm, and the Tavern was already busy with patrons at the bar and in the dining room. No reservations are taken and there was at least a forty-five minute wait. I recommend arriving early, especially if you have young children.

We started with glasses of their Sancerre ($13), and La Luca Prosecco ($9). The Tavern has a select number of wines by the glasses and more wines by the bottle.

They also have a variety of handcrafted cocktails including the Bonac Tonic, Diplomatico Rum Punch, and the Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned, to name a few.

Our meal included the following dishes:

  • Arugula Salad: Baby arugula, sliced pears, gorgonzola and candied pecans tossed with house made lemon vinaigrette ($14)
  • Roasted Salmon: Pan roasted Atlantic salmon served with fingerling potatoes, sautéed spinach and a lemon caper sauce ($25)
  • Steak Fajita: fajita with all the fixin’s ($23). To note, discount margaritas are also available.
  • Tavern Brownie Sundae: Homemade chocolate brownie topped with vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate, raspberry and caramel sauces, and fresh whipped cream ($7)

The prices are reasonable for the Hamptons scene, so you won’t feel like you’re breaking the bank when dining out. We appreciate how child-friendly they are and how friendly and accommodating the servers are. The manager, Margaret, was very pleasant and checked in on us throughout our dining experience.

The salmon was recommended by our waitress, and I would certainly relay this suggestion. It was cooked to my request, and I particularly loved the fingerling potatoes. The fajitas are a fun dish to order, with plenty of oozing cheese and sizzling peppers and onions. They were generous with the amount of steak, too.

Dessert is always a great choice at Indian Wells Tavern. Another favorite is the Banana Taco, which is perfect for splitting amongst two or three people after a hearty meal. The Banana Taco is a crispy flour tortilla cup filled with vanilla bean ice cream, caramelized sliced banana, pecan brittle and whipped cream ($8). Coffee, tea, and after dinner drinks are available for pairing.

Daily lunch and dinner specials are also available.

Check out their upcoming specials and events, including their Summer Kick Off Party featuring DJ James Ryan on Friday, May 24th from 10pm-1am ($5 cover). During the week, stop in for Monday Burger, Brew & App; Taco Tuesday; and Happy Hour at the bar Monday-Friday 4-6pm for reduced price drinks and bar menu.

Indian Wells Tavern is open daily year round serving Lunch & Dinner: Monday-Friday beginning at 11:30am, and Saturday & Sunday beginning at 11am. // 631-267-0400
