The team behind Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton have recently opened L&W Market just next door. The market fits perfectly with the relaxed neighborhood vibe. Pair your experience with incredible food and outdoor tables, this is the spot you must visit for eat in or carry out gourmet beach and backyard bites.
L&W Market, the brainchild of Almond partners Jason Weiner and Eric Lemonides, offers breakfast, lunch, and grocery items. Most of their items are grab-and-go, with their a selection of their sandwiches already assembled at the counter for your convenience. As soon as you step inside, you enter a rustic, laid-back vibe with plentiful amounts of gourmet offerings at your fingertips such as cold-brew coffee, penny candy, homemade ice cream, marinated cuts of meat, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, dressings, oils, and more.
Breakfast includes such offerings as Kimchi, Rice, and Egg ($8) and Tortilla Espagnola with green garlic love ($8). Pastries include a Chocolate Bundt Cake with Raspberry Ganache, muffins, pop tarts, monkey bread, coffee crumb cake, chocolate croissants, and more.
Their Pantry List includes an array of Almond-brand spices and dressings like their Citrus Cured Olives and Mansour’s Ketchup, as well as their #KIMCHIJEWS line made in the Bridgehampton basement. These include Kimchi, Red and Green Sriracha, Kimchi Mayo, Sweet Chili Garlic Sauce, Fermented Carrot Dressing, and Fire Cider.
Signature grocery items from the kitchen include Hummus, Babaganoush, Smoked Bluefish Spread, Truffled Chicken Liver Pate, Date Cake, Pico de Gallo, Hemp Tahini, and much more. Even more is sold on the shelves including seasonal produce from local farms, granola, pasta, sauce, Mecox Dairy cheeses, Olympia dried sausage, chips, and mixed nuts to name a few.
My favorite menu items so far include their Bahn Mi sandwich with ham, chicken liver pate, pickled veggies ($13); the curried chicken wrap: curry mayo, cilantro ($13); bento box (in a jar) – chicken or vegetable sticky rice, shiitakes, pickled veg, sesame, avocado, ($14); and the Thai spicy beef – aw spicy greens, s.b. vinaigrette, pickled carrots, daikon, basil ($14).
I can see myself coming here at least once to twice a week going forward. My whole family loved the food from the market and for everyone that I have spoken to about L&W Market, they have either been there already and had a great experience or intend to visit soon!
The market is currently open seven days a week beginning at 8am.
