Specialty Food Friday: Arlotta

Arlotta

The Arlotta Balsamic must be my all-time favorite. I have never tasted anything quite like it; the abundance of flavor and how it perfectly accompanies any cheese and meat plate, salad, or fruit dish, it is worth it for a special occasion or everyday use. My husband and I have used this balsamic on all of our salads for the past month. We also like to drizzle it on top of Italian heroes like my favorite prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato and pepperoni sandwich. We purchased the balsamic, along with the blood orange infused olive oil, at the Sag Harbor Farmers Market about two months ago (both were $20 each though they are sold for $27 for the olive oil and $29 for the balsamic vinegar).

The gentleman that sold them to us were so sincere and a pleasure to speak with.We are very particular about which olive oil we use for cooking, but we save the blood orange olive oil for specialty dishes such as our rosemary salmon, grilled chicken dishes, vegetable stir fry with seasoned chicken, or drizzled onto homemade bruschetta. As a dipping sauce, we add some sea salt and rosemary to the olive oil, that goes perfectly with soft, freshly baked dinner rolls.

I love everything blood orange infused and this olive oil surpassed my expectations. It has a sweet, citrus taste and also would be lovely as a marinade. Next time I purchase on of their products, I would love to try the Fig Balsamic and the fresh garlic infused olive oil. I love figs and I also love garlic so I think I would love these two products, I will keep you updated. The peach balsamic also sounds perfect for the fall!
