Specialty Food Friday: Two Moms in the Raw Crackers & Power Bars

Do you remember my post about Two Moms in the Raw‘s cookbook and their line of granola? Two Moms in the Raw has recently debuted their new Almond Protein Crackers – the only organic and  raw crackers on the market that are free of grains and are not flax crackers. They are made with sprouted almond flour to offer about twice as much protein as the average cracker and contain no added sugar. Almonds are high in protein and a good source of calcium. The crackers are available in four delicious flavors: Zesty Italian Herb, Spicy Chipotle Pepper, Jive’n Chive &  Onion, and Sweet on you Graham.

Two Moms in the Raw’s Granola Bars and Nut Bars are now made with chia seeds and hemp seeds and sweetened with coconut nectar. They chose coconut nectar because it does not spike the sugar levels in the body, and they are also able to use less in their products to still have the crackers taste great. Coconut nectar is currently a hot food trend. As you may know, I eat chia seeds almost every day. I sprinkle them into everything from smoothies and Greek yogurt to frozen yogurt, juices, and salads. I just started eating hemp hearts and use them as an ingredient in smoothies, granola, and even oatmeal for a protein boost.

I love the soft texture of each cracker and the granola bars are portioned so you could take them on the go as a nutritious snack. I took my granola bars to the beach, out shopping, and hiking. My favorite was the Spicy Chipotle Pepper. I feel that the crackers taste great on their own and I found myself eating them right out of the bag, though the chipotle pepper crackers pair well with salsa and guacamole. The Sweet on you Graham, for example, had a lightly sweet, nutty taste to it that was particularly unique and satisfying. I love discovering healthy snacks that I enjoy, and ones that I know my daughter will enjoy both at home and at school. I am now confident that she will grow up with nutritious choices around her.
