
Before the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, I had the opportunity to visit Sushi by Bou in Miami Beach for a high-end, Omakase 17-course tasting inside the Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive. The intimate dining experience takes place at a four-person counter where guests watch the masterful sushi chef prepare and serve each guest their individual pieces of sushi one at a time.
In Miami, Chef Wenjie Lian (aka Chef Miami Mike) heads the sushi bar. The menu rotates regularly and features the freshest, locally and globally sourced seafood. Chef Miami Mike guided us through the tasting by naming and describing each individual piece. Freshly sliced ginger was served alongside our plate. Before and after our tasting, we were seated inside the lounge, where a mixologist created specially made and menu based cocktails, and mocktails while we relaxed.
