My family and I have been huge fans of Stonewall Kitchen for over a decade. We visit their South Windsor, Connecticut location most often just before Thanksgiving and Christmas, and once in April in preparation for Easter Sunday. Though the company primarily has locations in New England, they also have one location in Maryland. I have called the company and suggested they open a brick and mortar shop on Long Island or in Manhattan.
Stonewall Kitchen sells an extensive line of oils, aioli, baking mixes, jams, marmalade, chutneys, salsas, syrups, candies, seasonings, dry pastas, mustards, and more. Some of my favorite products include their Lemon Curd, Maple Bacon Aioli, Mango Chutney, and Red Pepper Jelly. I especially love that their website includes a list of recipe ideas utilizing products from their top-notch specialty food collection.
For this review, I had the opportunity to try their Holiday Jam and Peppermint Chocolate Sauce. I love their holiday jam on a scone or English muffin as part of the hearty English breakfast my husband loves to cook every Sunday morning. The jam is very comforting, with hints of traditional holidays spices and just a touch of sweet. The chocolate peppermint sauce you can get very creative with, but I love to drizzle it on ice cream. Perhaps for February, you can integrate it into a homemade fondue recipe, or use it to create your own chocolate covered strawberries. The sauce has a pleasant afterthought, if you will, of soothing peppermint and the chocolate sauce had a soft, smooth texture.
