The Hamptons International Film Festival is one of the most anticipated event of the year, and I cannot think of a better happening to pair with great food and conversation. While working about an appetite during each film screening, head over to any and all of the for restaurants I have curated that will be serving up some serious grub from a perfectly plated ahi tuna salad to a swoon-worthy charcuterie and cheese board.
CowFish is located just on your way to or from the center of Hampton Bays right on the water situated just behind Out of the Blue Seafood. Upon arrival, valet promptly took care of parking our vehicle and we head up the stairs with the restaurant with Sarah, who was excited to see a wooden ship play area and instantly ran toward it. We let her play for about five minutes before we went in to dine. What a fabulous idea for little ones to let loose and play before settling in to dinnertime.
Afterward, we realized we walked all the way up to the top floor bar and seating area, which boasts superior views of the bay. The restaurant was just downstairs. There was ample seating upon arrival just after 5pm on a Saturday, though to our surprise, the restaurant filled to capacity within the next half hour. As we were leaving at just before 6:30pm, we overheard there was already a forty-five to an hour wait-time. The wait staff was very kind and went out of their way to serve us.
This week, I had the opportunity to try some of the new menu items at Rowdy Hall in East Hampton. My family, friends, and I have frequented Rowdy Hall for many years, and we always love coming back because of their reliable hours, and their ever-changing and eclectic tavern-style menu that includes a twist on comfort classics with a sprinkle of healthy dishes. I especially love their dessert menu, which will alternate with the season, but classics such as their Chocolate Mousse, always stay the same. Recently for Valentine’s Day, they had Red Velvet Brownie with white chocolate-cream cheese mousse and red velvet gelato created by their Pastry Chef, Rachel Flatley that sounded so cool, creamy and luscious.
