Baron’s Cove

Before my memorable dinner at The Restaurant at Baron’s Cove a little over a week ago, I was treated with a personal tour of the hotel’s newly renovated property by Baron’s Cove Assistant General Manager, Dot Capuano, whom I have known for many years. Though the property is recognizable as to the layout of what it was prior to the refurbishments, the new decor, and the amenities now offered are harmonious with the seaside Sag Harbor Village and Hamptons lifestyle.

Whether you prefer to enjoy your lunch or a cocktail poolside, take part in a peaceful yoga class on the front lawn, or go to the nearby Long Beach in their complimentary shuttle service, you will be treated like a star at this resort. The new resort property is by Cape Resorts, with their home base in Cape May, New Jersey. There they have five hotel properties, with Congress Hall as their flagship hotel.

HomeGoods Celebrates their Grand Opening in Wainscott

This past Sunday, May 17th, HomeGoods in Wainscott celebrated their grand opening with a tremendous turnout. On the Friday, May 15th, HomeGoods opened their doors at 4pm to TJX Rewards Credit Card holders for an exclusive shopping experience. Everyone waiting outside for the doors to open were more than eager to “shop till they drop.” The Hamptons, especially the East Hampton township, needed a well organized, reasonably priced one-stop type shop for the home and HomeGoods is the perfect fit to take on the role. Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, shoppers will get to stock up for all of their outdoor necessities, food pantry basics, and interior accents.

HomeGoods is an opportunistic retailer. The company is in the marketplace 365 days a year, where each day they are searching for well-made items to add to their store collection that they know customers will love. HomeGoods will buy from closeouts, during down factory time, and they are always in the know regarding which designers are hot that moment. Designer brands are part of HomeGoods’s DNA. The store also creates a colorful array of well-made international pieces. So much of what they sell is handcrafted, made in England, Italy or Portugal.

Drink It Tuesday: LƎFT HAND ™ Coffee

A new, hip coffee joint in Montauk has opened this spring! LƎFT HAND coffee opened its doors just two short weeks ago in the former space of Coffee Tauk. As you enter the newly renovated space, you are greeted with a friendly, open interior with a new, unique approach to brewing coffee. Known as the slow coffee movement, Yannis Papagianni, the managing partner, believes that his customers should have the opportunity to take their time, and savor their coffee and tea beverages. While I made my first visit to his coffee shop, my mom was with me and she had the opportunity to try their house latte. She said that every aspect of the latte down to the foam was excellent! The barista was very friendly and the speed of service was satisfactory. Yannis also greeted us upon arrival, and I sat down with him to learn more about his new shop.

Hamptons and North Fork Restaurant Openings

I have compiled a list of restaurant opening dates in 2015 and a list of new restaurants to open in The Hamptons and North Fork. Some new restaurants are secondary restaurants of already existing establishments. I intend to have reviews written for all of the restaurants below, and will write a second review if one is already written, such as the Blue Parrot and Navy Beach.
