TBar Steak and Lounge, located on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, is a restaurant you will return to again and again for its superior Nouveau American menu and intimate yet energetic downtown vibe. It is no surprise that the same UES clientele have been returning year after year for over a decade. The frequent customers seated around us exclaimed almost immediately exactly what they were ordering, without even a glance at the menu.
My guests and I decided to follow along with our dining room neighbors and order favorites including burgers from the Burger Bar and a variety of starters.
Appetizers we decided upon included:
- Beet & Endive Salad: Apple, Goat Cheese, Pumpkin Seeds ($17)
- Segundo’s Meatballs: Veal, Beef, Pork, Tomatoes, Parmesan ($17)
- Yellowfin Tuna Tartar: Soy, Ginger, Sesame Seeds ($23)
Additional popular choices include Thin Crust Pizza ($18), and Guacamole ($19) for the table. Our waiter highly suggested the Tuna Tartar and he was en pointe. If you are in the mood for tartar, this particular dish is one not to pass on.
Our entrees comprised of customer favorites including Irish Salmon: Zucchini, Honey Mustard ($31); Rigatoni “Antonucci”: Duck Ragout, Parmesan ($24); and Chilean Bass: Bok Choy, Ginger, Soy Glaze ($42). Satisfying portions, plenty of flavor, and top notch ingredients.
A focal point of TBar’s menu is on their desserts, including decadent desserts served family style. Shared desserts that serve four include a Strawberry Sundae with shortcake and meringue ($24), and Flourless Chocolate Sundae, which comprises of a brownie, cream, and chocolate sauce ($24). Don’t become surprised if TBar becomes a regular dining destination when on the UES.
TBar Steak and Lounge is open seven days a week for lunch at 11:30am, and dinner beginning at 5pm. From 3-5pm, they close to get ready for dinner.
