The Time Nyack, located less than an hour north of Manhattan, is set just across the Hudson River from Tarrytown, NY in Nyack, NY. The hotel is within easy access for those who drive and by train. Simply choose Tarrytown, NY on the Hudson metro line, and request a shuttle pick up at the train station, which is less than fifteen minutes away by way of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
The hotel is conveniently just off of I-287 and offers complimentary parking. This was our first visit to The Time Nyack but not our first to the area. I have shopped at the Palisades Center at least a half dozen times and frequently visited Westchester and Rockland County during my academic years. The Time offers a rare mix of exceptional hospitality with a friendly, warm environment that is subtle for a leisurely couple’s getaway or a family weekend away.
We stayed on the fourth floor with a room that boasts a sweeping view of the Bridge and Hudson River. The decor is very chic, with a touch of refreshing urban energy. There were bathrobes available for our use, a refrigerator, full-length mirror, Voss water, and The Time Nyack is dog-friendly! Amenities for your furry friend include a pet tee-pee, food and water bowl, and more.
During the warmer months, there is an outdoor pool and lounge.
Breakfast is continental and is served during specified hours every morning. Breakfast choices include hot coffee, tea, a selection of juices, muffins, breakfast pastries, fruit, and bagels. Breakfast is served in the open lounge opposite the lobby. To-go cups for your beverages are available for your convenience. Room service is also available.
The hotel’s onsite restaurant is BV’s Grill, the cousin restaurant of the renowned Bobby Van’s Steakhouses. We ended up dining here twice, the first time for a late Friday dinner just before 9pm and the following evening at about 5:30pm. The restaurant was almost a full house Friday late evening whereas Saturday early evening, most of the activity was at the bar. It did not start to pick up until we were finished at about 7pm.
BV’s Grill does serve a full breakfast including a variety of omelets, and selections from the griddle including whole grain pancakes and French toast. Lunch includes a selection of appetizers such as French onion soup and fish tacos, salads, and sandwiches.
The dinner menu features a diverse array of classic steak and seafood dishes that all feature local, organic ingredients. Some of my favorite dishes including the Warm Spinach Salad with goat cheese, Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna, 8 oz. Filet Mignon, and Braised Short Ribs. Desserts include a Chocolate Mousse Truffle Cake, Tiramisu, and Tartufo along with a selection of seasonal offerings.
Breakfast is served 6:30-10:30am, lunch is 11-3:30pm, and dinner is 4-10:30pm. Sunday Brunch is available in the dining room only.
There is also a late-night menu that spans from 10:30pm-1:30am. View the full menus here. Outdoor dining is available in-season.
